Magnum 4 by Tanic Packs

Well if at first ya don't succeed try try again and this time I think we finally have it right. This is our 4th Magnum plane and our 6th fast plane for the year and trouble has followed us with the rest. This time I believe we have it figured out. This new plane has many upgrades starting with the Neu 1521/1.5 motor, this is a 3000 watt motor rated at 60,000 rpm and of course we are pushing that a bit as well. Here are some stats on this :

Neu motor 1521/1.5
Tanic 9S 4350 lipo pack
Castle Creations HV 85 controller
Hercules HBEC ( up to 11S and switchable 5 or 6 volts)
Berg 7 rx by Castle Creations
6 x 9 APC prop

Performance numbers:
RPM in excess of 32,000
Watts in excess if 3400
amps 102 +
thrust 288 oz +
estimated speed 220+
Plane weight 5 1/2 pounds

We will have this bad boy at the NEAT Fair and will be flying it at 7:00 am Friday morning, figured we'd wake up some campers!

This plane is a real screamer !!!

The performance #'s are actual as tested not calculated

Outstanding Brian! I have some of those 4350's and they're great!

we have about a 1/2 inch mainly for rlanding because as we slow down we need more throw, in flight the surfaces hardly move the plane lands very fast

ya these cells will hold around 3.7 volts per cell at 100 amps this whole system is really not over worked and should actually last for awhile.

Dan Landis will be piloting this thing at NEAT he blew up one of the first ones at AZ last year great recovery and landing though.

Looks like a lot of power but the plane looks incredibly draggy. Even with 3500 watts I really can't imagine it going anywhere near 200mph. I had 2000 watts in the trick which was a FAR FAR FAR more streamlined airplane and that was only doing high 160's low 170's out of a dive and 150's level. You need to get a radar gun out there and see what you are really looking at. Keep in mind the TheTicks' F5D nemesis with 1500 watts and razor thin and short arrow root nwings and narrow fuse barely wide enough to fit the 1509 with no heat sink would barely break 200mph. The next step up to a more draggy plane (the vandetta) which still was very aerodynamic etc needed double the power to go 200mph.

In Kens' world, Thunderpower is the only battery that exists.

Need 4 Speed!

Looks great! I'm sure 30,000+ rpm is the perfect wake-up call for a fly-in. Whatever the speed, this is all really just a work in progress . Nothing is ever really fast enough for speed freaks. Go get'em Brian

You will pick up an easy 10-20mph if you close up that slimer garage. Just make sure you get video
