First Parkflyer flight! What to expect?

I built a Great Planes BLT about 4-months and the 280 motor
system is finally here.I taught myself to fly on a Firebird XL
that I flew from the start with the wing shim on.The XL
has a 400 speed motor and eats -up alot of air space and
I think it flys fairly fast.So what can I expect from the BLT
as far as flying characterics go? will it fly as fast as the XL ?
be more easy to control? Or less forgiving? When I had launch
the BLT will I need to ad up elavator right away or will it
climb on its own? Thanks.

The first thing is to get some help. It is not an XL and it may not fly on its own as well as the XL.

At least have someone either test fly it or trim it out for you. If not do a test glide over thick grass.

It should climb out on its own and require little input when setup right. Remember to apply only enough ridder to turn, and add up elevator to keep it level in the turns.
