Pretty crazy cool looking, love the hinging out and down, then the up and in, what is the wingspan going to be, it looks like it may be heavy.

cheers demon!
yes i will weigh it once the other wing is complete along with the landing gear its my first scale project so a lot of things are still in experimentation! |

VERY cool, but you already knew that. Question; are you going to combine use of the flaps and spoilers w/ the ailerons for roll authority? I'm thinking you might need to in order to control an expected heavy model. Although I'm not sure how you would do that. I believe that real airliners do this but for example the spoilers move at a much smaller amount than the aileron defection so not to create too much drag during roll. One idea to reduce some weight is to connect the four outer spoilers together using .10 mil mylar on the back side of them so you can reduce the number of servos per wing half by three.

WOW very impressive!!!! It really doesn't look too heavy too me, two 40hp motors should work (JK). Very nice design, to lighten it, if it is really too heavy, could you make the hinging out of plastic or CF?

On the full size aircraft roll is controlled with the outer 4 spoilers how much I'm not sure yet but max deflection for the spoilers is 35degrees according to the manual obviously that would be way too much as it would just kill the lift that's only used on the ground when the inner flap is also actuated
Yes I'm tempted to bind the four spoilers together to save on weight and complexity ! Also on the full size the ailerons droop 5degrees when full flap is deployed this shouldn't be a problem if I can get the right gear |

Using plastic for the mechanism would have been possible except for the main linkage which is bent to fit on the end of the flap bracket

Yes your right forgot to mention ailerons for roll of course!
That's a good idea not sure if connecting the spoilers and aileron with a y harness would work as I'm planning on using the spoilers for ground brakes as full size |
