Indoor Night at the NEAT Fair! Saturday September 17th.
Cindy and I will be holding the Indoor Night at the NEAT Fair this year in the Downsville high school gym on Saturday September 17th from 3pm-10pm. http://www.neatfair.org/ The event will feature some of the "Best in Micro" with state of the art micro models.
The event is open to individuals with models built from kits, or models built from their own designs. (No RTF's) The format will be the same as previous years. We will have time slots for ultra slow models, and open flying for all types. We will also feature the popular 1/2 time show that allows everyone around 5 minutes to showcase their latest creation for the crowd! (SKS Video should be on hand to film the event) Models will not weigh more than two ounces, and will have a flight envelope that will allow them to fly safely in the high school gym. AMA or Park Flyer insurance will be required. Fee will be $15.00 payable at the registration table. All proceeds will go to the Downsville high school for their education programs. Anyone interested in flying please e-mail me (Joe Malinchak) to register at joemal@echoes.net Include the models that you are planning on flying and the frequency's you will be using. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the event! Thanks, Joe. |

Joe,
Sounds good. It will be fun to be back flying at the NEAT Indoor Night after a few years away, but this time not running the event. Thank you and Cindy for taking that on. I'll help if you need me, but otherwise I'm planning on flying and getting some air time! And, I'll be getting some "micro-ish" outdoor planes ready for outdoor flying at the south end of the field. Sounds good to me. Some years there have been people even further south of the field near the motor homes doing HLG. Do you think Tom would be upset if we flew down there.

I usually set my tent up on the Wednesday or Thursday before the NEAT Fair, and I still have trouble getting a good spot close to the slow flyer area. I think Tom should reserve spots on the field for preregistered pilots! It will be really nice to fly at the Downsville high school gym again.

This year however it will be different. Some guys had been driving up the weekend or the days before the show and "dropping" there stuff off and leaving. This year, your stuff AND you have to stay. in other words, drop your stuff off monday... you had better be camping there all week! (not necessarily on the flightline, but somewhere on the property!) This message will be sent to all pre-reg pilots when we close pre-reg in late aug. Tom |

I have mentioned this to Joe but I feel strongly about it so I'll post it here too. I think we are missing an opportunity if we don't demo some of the gymnasium appropriate RTF's (Vapor, Cub, Champ, 4-Site, Extra 300, etc.). These planes are a great introduction for someone who is not ready to build indoor models from scratch, plans, or kits. Plus they are a perfect source of hardware for those future builds as a modeler progresses. Pete |

Hi guys,
The event was always about showing the modeling public some of the "'best in micro" from modeler's from all over the world! We are encouraging people to build and create new projects to fly. However, the RTF micros are a big part of the growth of this segment of the hobby. Pete and a few others will be allowed to demo them during the 1/2 time show. Joe. |
