Question
New to boats
Hi guys its my first time posting so take it easy
I come from an RC car background (1/10 BL touring car) and my nephew and I have decided that it would be fun to get into RC boats. He is 13 and wants to build it from scratch, he likes the idea of tinkering with it to get the maximum speed out of it. Anyway I have done a bit of research and the 22.5" Arowana Mono 1. First question whats the difference in performance between the Polyester and Epoxy? Also what is a good motor and ESC for it. I do like the value you get from Hobbyking We are both going to get the same electrics and race on setup. I'm sure I'll have more questions later like rudder, trim and prop selection. I do like how these boats are very customisable. Its a lot different to RC cars where you adjust settings rather then installing different kit. Cheers, |

FighterCat
Check out FighterCatracing.com you have to sign up to get to the store but I found it was worth it when comparing my 22 1/2" Arowana to the quality and cost of a Fightercat and as a bonus they're right here in the USA. I bought a 37" Daytona, motor, strudder, ESC and motor mount the shipping was only $16 , when shipping got delayed by them for a day they sent my stuff priority getting it to me before Fathers Day. I'm sold on them as I have had lots of trouble with quality from China, when you have any issues with their merchandise they want it you to pay to ship it back to China and it's not the same price it cost to ship it here.

So I have heard.
I'm planning on running with a Turnigy XK4074-B-2000KV Brushless Inrunner motor and Turnigy 180A ESC. I'm looking at getting the following: 32" Bling Rocket V Hull - Bare FC Rudder - 130mm w/Pickup FC 4 Bolt Profile Series UNIVERSAL 4082 - 4092 FC 3/16" Mono Stinger - 78mm FC Turn Fins 65mm Pair FC CNC & Stainless Trim Tabs Pair - Medium Howies Hockey Hatch Tape - 90ft Roll FC Laser Cut Wood - Sponson Battery Tray FC Laser Cut Wood ESC Platform FC Water Outlet - Large FC Rubber Boot FC Rudder Control Rod - With Hitch Cap I think I just need to add a shaft, prop, servo and servo mount. I've been trying to do some research on the last parts but no one seems to list which ones they use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
