Cheers Dennis.
I gave it a glance at least. After a couple of weeks procrastination (i thought about this before making the first post) i realized i could go on forever so instead i made a swift decision. I just ordered an Airtronics SD-10G. //Faap |

Now that you've decided on the SD-10G (I can't argue that's what I use) can I point you to an invaluable source of soaring and radio programming know-how? There's a fellow named Paul Naton who makes soaring videos which will improve your flying, building, and programming skills up to a level that if you followed all the advice in the videos you'll get the most out of whatever fancy, new, RED, competition sailplane you choose to fly. I'm not connected with Paul other than meeting him once at the flying field and being a satisfied customer for many years now.

I too am just getting into gliders and researching my next radio. I am leaning towards the Hitec A9 (or the new A9X). Looks like you have already picked the Airtronics, but I thought I would post a very in depth review of the Hitec anyway and also would like to get thoughts from others here about the radio. I haven't completely decided and actually am still looking at the Futaba 14SG and Airtronics as well.

I actually bought a couple of his DVD:s not too long ago. When i ordered the radio i ordered the two DVD:s about radios as well. Most likely they will be well worth 50$. //Faap |

If you're a visual learner and aren't able to easily find a sailplane club or attend contests in your area so you can learn from others first hand, I'd say all his how-to videos are invaluable. I'm not saying you couldn't find much of the information he presents from various sources on RCgroups...but it would take a lot of sifting through this site to find the best advice.
