Can't wait to see you flying that MQX. Quads are where it's at right now.

I could get it to go forward, backward and sideways, but I could not get the hang of making it do a regular turn like with a heli or plane. If you just use rudder, it spins like a top on its center axis and nothing else. I tried a combination of rudder, elevator and aileron and could never get the hang of it. With the MQX, because it uses Spektrum technology, I could dummy it down too so it wasn't as spazzy. I also have a Walkera LadyBird palm size quad and I can't do anything to tone it down, so, learning to fly it indoors in my limited space hasn't worked out.

Half the problem with heli's is getting a stable hover. Quads use a 3-axis gyro that makes them very stable. Most guys get into them as a camera platform, especially the larger ones. The military and police are into them for video platforms.

They are totally fascinating to look at for me. When it got to the actual flying, for some reason they dont strike the same cord the little helis do - so now I am in the process of selling almost everything I have "quad-wise" ... (except the HOTEN X and my very first V929 ...) I will bring my focus back to the micro helis, those are THE category for me ... |
