NO! You flew the Bandit at 44 grams with a 22mm EDF. Plenty of intake area on this jet I would love to convert this one. It would even be lighter when you dig a bunch of foam out of it.

I would cut the nose off ahead of the canopy and dig it out to save weight. Then glue the horizontal tail and wings on and cut off the vertical fin and the stabs off where they meet the fuse. This way you can set up all flying stabs for taileron control.

Next saw the fuse in half. Now you can dig out the intake and exhaust to fit a fan with no lip perfectly. You will be able to get 100% fsa no problem with a 22mm. Dig out the canopy and the area under the canopy and you have plenty of room for two servo's and the batts. Glue it all back together and put a magnet or two on the canopy. Done.

Better yet, drop a 25mm MDF in there. At 15"+ WS, 22mm may move it, but you wouldn't have fun. Go with a 12mm inrunner or micro outrunner on 3S. Keep AUW under 60g-65g and it'll rock.

The 25 would work good because the tail end is 20mm, which is a perfect 80%.

20mm minus the wall thickness. Think about it. A 80% FSA with one of my 25/12 fans would yield a diameter of 18.76mm. Area of I.D. minus Area of hub equals FSA.

With the 25/OT you would need a diameter of 18.53mm. Just shoot for 19mm.

If I get around to doing this one I would probably just chop off the end right at the fuse and reproduce it with a thrust cone to the correct diameter.

Do you know how many amps your 25/12 set up would pull with a Fiago 5800 on 3s? I'm wondering if the batteries would have to be bigger than this model could handle with that setup. You could probably get close to 1:1 with a 25/10 and a hi KV Losi on 2s I would think.

At 5.5 amps you should be able to power that with a 3s 250 25c. Maybe a custom pack to keep the weight down. What were you thinking?

With the 25/12, you need serious rpms. The 5800kv isn't going to do any better than a 1015 11500kv. If you were able to get the 5800kv on 5s (which isn't going to happen), then you might see something worth it. Turboace has a 16800kv 12mm inrunner - Turbo Ace 31714. (I have no idea where to get it though.)

You will also need to use a clipped 40mm rotor, or a trimmed 7-blade 27mm rotor.

So what kind of setup do you believe is ideal for your 25/12? For this plane you need a setup that will give you at least 45 grams or so of thrust for 1:1. This assumes that you will be around that weight after carving out a bunch of foam and putting in lightweight electronics.

A 25/10 seems good enough. Here is Nitro's set up with 47 grams thrust:

I never tested any of my units. All the testing was done by Nitro, MT, All4, ksqm, and a few others (which I really do thank them for). I just compiled all of that info to make logical assumptions. The 12 hasn't been proven by anyone, but from Nitro's tests, it's easy to see that a 12mm motor isn't loaded, even the 10300kv one. This means that you would either need more cells or higher kv for more rpm to load a 12mm motor. Nitro did prove the effectiveness of the 10mm though.

All that said, the 12 is still in the x-stage. It's more open to custom motors than commercially available ones.

Looks like it would be perfect to sand smooth, glass and mold it I think i know what I will do with my 2nd one
