Hi guys,

Heh that looks pretty darn cool.
Do you fly this entirely by goggles?

For some reason I cant help but think flying helicopter in FPV is tons easier.
Because all axles will always be "naturally" in line with yourself.
You can grab a nice little 450 from hobbyking for no more then 200 bucks,
so it certainly is a really fun project.

The fun part of using a helicopter is you can linger around at interesting spots,
rather then having to zoom by them.

Your video certainly shows its a really nice platform!

Yes he flying with googles after first 4-5 meters.
I shocked because he saying "easy than easystar, because more stable and you can easly keep to horizontal when using google" .
I will buy a HK450 kit from hobbyking

Sounds like fun.
With a helicopter you get much more exploration opportunity if you ask me.
Though I'm not sure how efficient the batteries will be.
If its going flat in 5 minutes its not much fun imho.

Very cool but...

Rather build yourself a tricopter ;-)

Heheh I've been following that tricopter thread too.
That would surely make for an alien FPV platform.
Though with three motors and a LOT of weight.. you think it would fly for long?

Easier until something goes wrong and then there is very little chance of recovery... even a short video signal loss and bye bye Was heavy into heli's myself at one point but then realized I was spending more on r/c helis than I was flying real planes and quickly sold all of it.

Pretty good flying for FPV on a heli! How about a piro flip?

This guy's a legend.

Flying FPV at a lake with a quadrocopter (6 min 34 sec)

I also aspire to fly FPV on my tricopter, after I iron out the stability issues.

A good autopilot will do wonders for a helicopter wont it?

Challenging Convention
Most people use the Helicommand.

I've not used one on my heli but people that have always rave about it..

Cheers

Andy
