Help!

Looking for Setup advice for the HT-FPV Frame

Hello,

I could really use your expertise ................

I have flown my HoverThings 450 size quad (built by Paul @ WhiteSpy) for a few years now. I have been very happy with it and Paul did a great job building it and explaining its operation and binding to my Spektrum DX6i Radio. RCGroups member - FreeChip did an awesome job getting me setup and flying when I switched from a DX6i to the DX18.

Now I am building a quad for the first time. I have had a HoverThings FPV Frame waiting for awhile now so that is the frame I will buildout. I have read through the forums and I am hoping you guys that have built out the HT-FPV Frame would be willing to share what has truly worked best for you.

I am not looking for speed. I would prefer long flight times with the ability to lift additional payload if required

Here is what I have

HT-FPV Frame
LED lights
EagleTree Vector Flight Controller OSD/AutoPilot
5.8ghz 600mw VTX w/ BlueBeam Ultra circularly polarized
GoPro 3
RMRC 600xv flight camera

Motors - looking for recommendation

ESCs - looking for recommendation

Props - looking for recommendation

4S Battery - looking for your recommendation

I really appreciate all your help in recommending the best setup for the
HT-FPV Frame.

Regards,

I would be interested in what recommendations come your way

Will you post pictures of your build? I would like to see how things turn out.

I did a ht-fpv frame early this year.

Auw 2.3 kg

Wookong-m
t-motor s35a simonk esc
geniusdrone hemi 2814 825kv
10x5 graupner propellers
4s 5000mah
Custom gimbal in front
immersion vtx

flew great as opposed to what ppl say about large props on this frame.
What i learned in the process was that tilting the back motors alitle forward helped on yaw authority wich was lacking a bit. Just a tip

Your reply - thank you

Thank you so much for your reply - I really appreciate it.

Can you expand on what you mean by tilting to rear motors?

Should I shim them or use washers, can you send me a picture?

Thank you,

Austin

Just use the outer screw hole in the raer and the inner in the front on the rear arm.
I just used one of them adapter rings that comes with apc props and a longer screw.
Be carefull so you dont ram the screw into the windings in the motor.

Sorry to jump in on the thread

Would you be willing to take the motor off so that you can display each piece of your modification

Thank you,

Mrimstad,

Thank you for sharing. I am curious - have others resolved issues with this mod as well?

What kind of flight times are you seeing with your setup and where did you purchase your ESCs and Motors?

GuyPilot - yes, I will try to post pics of my build when I get there.... .... Just remember, it's my first build

il see what i can do.
The topic has been discussed beefore. I think there even is a thread for it somewhere.
flight times where preaty normal arround 10-12m

www.readymaderc.com : esc's
www.geniusdrones.com : Motors

I will say however there are plenty of motors for less arround, these where kind of overkill, But quality pays! Good alternatives are sunnysky 2814 -800 to 900kv
