What's the difference between Syma S107 and S105??
I was just in the process of ordering some spare parts for my S107(s) and noticed that several parts were compatible between the S107, S105 & S108. I can easily see that the S108 is a military style heli and looks to be about the same size but it's difficult to see the difference between the S107 and S105.

OK, I found this description... I will assume this guy is accurate. I'll leave it to the experts here to agree or dispute these statements:
This is a frequently asked question, but a simple answer. The Difference between is the s107 has a built in gryo which makes the helicopter a lot more stable in the air. Also you don’t have to trim it everytime. The s105 doesn’t have a gryo but other than that it’s the same helicopter and should still fly pretty good. |

Ken, there were 2 generations of S105s. The 1st generation is simply S105, as show in the video provided by Paul above. It doesn't have a gyro, but it has side navigational lights. The blade design is carried over to the 2nd generation S105G and to the Blue S107.
The 2nd generation added gyro, thus, S105G. It uses the same PCB, frame, and parts of S107. The only difference is the canopy, which is silver and blue. It loses the side navigational lights, but you could still see the round holes on the side frames where they used to be. S107 has the same frame with the same holes. The S105G is also rebranded as SWANN Micro Lightning. You could find those on Fry's and Walmart web site. In summary, the 1st gen S105 was very unique. The 2nd gen S105G is the same as the S107G in every way, except for the canopy, tail fin, etc. All the electronics and mechanical parts are interchangeable. |
