A better way is to equalize prices first $374 (inc shipping) DX8, TM1000, AR8000 $384 (inc shipping) Aurora 9, Optima 7, Optima 6, Optima 6 I think this is the difference $248 for TM1000 x 2, AR600 x 2, SPMA9570 x 2 Which makes the Aurora 9 system about 60% less expensive for the package. |

Also there is a new bare bones version with the Optima 6 for $339.99 as seen here: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBXGA&P=7 Mike. |

The best price I've seen for an A9 with O9 receiver is $370 from Servocity. They also have the transmitter only for $290.
This compares almost equally with what you can get a DX8 for. ($365 and $299 respectively) But, the DX8 does come with the TM1000 and even though the A9 has receiver voltage telemetry, you would still need to buy the Hitec telemetry module to add any other sensors. I got a slightly used A9, two O7 receivers and HPP 22 for $250. I sold the two O7's for $90 so I got an A9 for $160 with programmer. |

Just and FYI, you can get a Hitec telemetry station module for $37.
So, for $407 you get an A9 with O9 receiver and telemetry station VS $365 for the DX8 with the same components. Granted, with the A9 you get 1 more channel, more and easier programming features and most importantly to me Hitec reliabilty. |

No kidding... Phil Kraft 4 channel "Sport" radio was what, $400 back in the late 70's? No servo reversing or dr even... nothing but 2 sticks and 4 trim tabs. Oh, and the power switch, yeah... the power switch. Nice! This was my first radio.

Just came back from my LHS and was looking at their new Radio Display case they recently got and of course was looking at the radio and I will admit the A9 was looking very nice.
Ask my buddy who works there if they sell many of it and he said NO, they had that one for quite sometime and it just doesn't sell like Spektrum does and Futaba. I guess radio brand popularity differ from region cause he said it was a great radio but when people come in looking for a radio they look at SPK and FUT. I will say the A9 looked very nice shinning in that display case. My first impression of it was soso, what's up with the antenna wire sticking out from the back? |
