FliteFest 2021 Photo Coverage!

FliteFest Fun!

From Steve Niezgoda...

I finally went through my photos from FliteFest 2021. Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend. I'm not going to lie, it was a lot of rain and a lot of wind which kept us from flying most of our planes. But it was great to see everyone and hang out talking about our crazy passion with flying planes. Wish we could have met more people but the rain kept us home on Saturday and Sunday. Thanks again Flite Test for throwing this big party for all of us every year! See ya around the flight line!

Given that not all of these are foam board based, and it does represent the upper percentiles of those that are, I believe this shows the growth of foam board as a building medium. If you compare and contrast these aircraft to the best of previous Flite Fests, this trend will be obvious.

This scratch-build looks interesting. Do we know anything about it?

Thanks. I'm a fan of prop jets. Much more efficient than EDFs.

The sport scale scissor wing test airplane (NASA AD-1 )was neat. Don’t recall seeing anyone model that plane. Did the wing on the model turn like on the real aircraft?

Does anyone know if there are any plans for the flying boat?

EDIT: Or a name, article, URL?

Looks like one of Ken Willard’s designs.
He did a number of seaplane designs
This one looks like a seamaster.

I’m pretty sure that’s the Seamaster Joshua Orchard built using foam board instead of balsa. He has a YouTube video(s) on his YouTube channel.

That sums up everything I needed to know. Found the plans, found the channel.
Thanks for the rabbit holes, gentlemen
