Ok I'm just about to fly this on 4s after making a y lead for my 300mah 2s,
Anyone know how safe it is or if there is still problems with these ESC on 4s?

I've put about 10 packs through with CNHL 4s 450mah on 2540 props and it's been fine. I think they have solved the ESC issues.

Great,
I just got back from testing at the park on 4s 300mah ( 2x 2s series ) and it went fine.
Flight time was obviously fairly short at 3 minutes and change and lipos were pretty warm so not ideal but an option because I have them already ...
Was definitely more fun on 4s, much closer to the performance of the r349 but still not quite as fast.

I pushed the reciever range too, I went as far as I do with the XM+ on my other builds and it was fine, I just got a low rssi warning in the expected places but no holds or loss of control.

I just tried gemfan flash 2540 on there and it has a bit of mid throttle jello on 3s but flew for longer and faster , not sure if it's pids or just prop imbalance?

I'll try 4s tomorrow and see how that goes, and also see how crash resistant they are, the stock ones bend so easily is a light crash and then get jello that is impossible to get rid of without new props ( straightening them out almost get rid of the jello but not quite. ).

Sent flying on those 2540 props for a few days and I really like them even with the slight jello at mid throttle,
Flight times are up 25% generally flying in a similar way on both.

Here are my thoughts comparing it on the bench

I am waiting for the Avan 2.5, the 2540 are too noisy for my taste. I like the 2035 and the 3052, but somehow the 2540 are a bit hit or miss for me. On the Phoenix these work fine, no jello, shakes, noise, as well as on the Hornet 120, but on other quads, like Egg 130 or this, I'm not so happy.

HQ Prop

I've been running the HQ prop 2.5, enjoying them quite a bit

I've seen that prop being used as well, in Joshua Bardwell's video. How are these props on flight time and noise?

I might be imagining things at the moment (baby #3 = sleep deprived) but I think they are more quiet than the 2540. Not sure if they are quite as fast but they feel good. I want to try the 2.5 avans, I hear good things about them. I think the HQ t65mm will be really good on this.

The 2540 are silent in hover, but can be screamers on high throttle. I tried the Avan 2.5 yesterday, here's a first video:

Looks good solo, how was flight time compared to stock?
I have the avan 2.5 but no tried them yet due to weather and still testing out the 2540 some more.
I noticed a couple of wobbles in that video but not much, the 2540 I have defo have more wobbles but do give longer flight time than stock and are stronger.

Bit tricky to compare, since I flew it more aggressively than with stock props. There is some slight wobble, which seems to be on the regular FullSpeed Toothpick too. Not sure what it is, I've soft mounted the FC on the regular TP, and it didn't change anything.
