Months ago I saw a link for an upgrade Telemetry module for the DEVO 8 to convert it to an 8S.
The vendor was selling them for $10.

Anybody know about converting a Devo 6 to a 6S?

This thread says you don't even need to change the module, just install the firmware. Is it possible that deviation could read telemetry on a 6 as well?

Would it be possible to addDevo8s transmitter lcd color skin to normal black & white for more visible under sun light?
It just too difficult to see Devo8 color screen under sun light on the field for some quick setup.

I tried Walkers's 6s firmware a few months ago but it seemed to mess up other aspects of the interface... don't recall exactly what now. From the thread I get that it works for some people and not for others.

Ah, that's too bad. I've got the 8s/12s module, I've never seen one for the 6s... Sounds like the module is not the only issue though.

Yes this is great, sure to be more visible under sunlight on the field.
I'm thinking of making my own color skin if possible, but not sure how to go with the programming of firmware as I never touch on software modification & none of knowledge of doing so.
As i only know basic programming language.

Go ahead and use the 8s/12s module as it's the same one the 6s is using. I'd upgraded my 6 to a 6s by swapping the chip and it works as a 6s as expected. Remember to update using the 6s firmware.
