Hey all! After each flight I always leave the field with a greasy, messy airplane due to the oil from the fuel. Any suggestions on what would be a good product to use to clean the surfaces of my H9 J-3 Cub?

I use 409. Windex or some kind of all puropse cleaner will work fine.

windex and paper towles, thats all you need to know!

The best stuff I've ever used is called ''Awesome'' and I get it at the Dollar Store. Most Dollar Tree, Dollar General etc. stores carry it.

I like 409 as well. Anything with a mild degreaser works though.

I like to use Simple Green as my cleaning solution along with paper towels of course. I used to use 409 a lot too.

I believe the full name is LA's Totally Awesome. Silly name, great stuff - I use it for getting the black streaks off my travel trailer.

Yeah that stuff is "Awsome", ill probably try some of that!

Water and a few drops of dish soap. You could add a little denatured alcohol if you want to make it dry faster.

Never use paper towels. Paper towels will scratch the finish. Use rags, old T shirts and the like. Any GP cleaner will do, or you can mix your own with a little dishwasher soap and amonia. I use a 1/4 cup amonia and couple of table spoons of liquid dishwasher soap mixed in an old gallon jug.

Thanks guys, now I really have some different options!

Go to your local auto store and buy a gal. of winshield washer fluid. About $2.00 cleans great.

Windex and paper towels at the field. Warm water,dish washing soap and a sponge when I get home.

Oh boy! here we go! Get a clean empty gallon plastic bottle. Pour in 16 oz (1 quart) denatured alcohol. Add 2 oz of concentrated liquid car wash. Top off with distilled water.

For tough jobs occasionally use Windex. I've never heard anything about paper towels scratching Monocoat (might be worth experimenting with). I use them anyway.

Thanks guys, I find that if I let simple green soak in the plane for a couple of minuets, it takes the grease right off
