Use RC car tint. It's made to spray on the inside of car bodies.

You may have seen some advice from others to me to help tame the squirelling on the takeoff roll. The adding of toe in also helps slow the model on landing. |

Elevator alignment
Are you guys measuring from the top of the verticle stab to the edge of the horizontal stab to get correct alignment? There is wiggle room in both and too hard to eyeball off the wing.

What is the mAh rating of the batteries you guys have been using.? I have been planning on using stock motor and fan but with 7s and Tams heatsink. Just trying to see what size batteries to get since I am in need of batteries. Is 5000mAh to large or should I look at something around 4400mAh? What flight time can I expect with 4400mAh vs 5000mAh? Thanks, Todd

I'm running a 6s 5300 30C gens ace pack on my stock habu. With decent throttle management I can fly 5 min and still have 40% capacity left in the pack. A 4000-5500 mah pack Would probably work best for a 6-7s battery.
I have a tams heatsink and tail cone I plan on dropping in my habu for next summer so I can fly in the heat of the day since the ice lite will be in the tailcone. I might even pick up a 7s pack like you and push the stock setup a little more just for fun. Have you flown yours on 7s? How is the run time? Supposedly it also helps out with the CG by placing tams tailcone and the ESC further aft behind the motor. That makes sense because right now I have about 1.5oz in the tail to keep it balanced, and I still think it flies a touch nose heavy. |

No have not flown on 7s. Still in the building/gathering parts stage and waiting on some parts to come in. I have read that many here recommend flying stock with 6s first. But with our field and the not so smooth surface, I thought the extra go go power would help to get it in the air quicker. Looking to get Tams struts as well since I have regularly bent wire struts on planes. For planes with more weight it just makes sense to go to good struts with the lumps that plague our landing strip. Todd

Jetnfast, thanks for the input. I was planning on building as light as possible. Thinking of doing the S-Bus setup with wires to see if that would save some weight instead of having all the extentions. But the cost is what is keeping me from that setup at this time. Once I get the time to start building I will make the decision then. I already have all the extentions, so that is what I might do. I just don't like seeing the bundle of wires in the fuse like I have seen in some of the pictures. Just looks like a bunch of weight that could be reduced. Anyway, I just need to get struts coming. Wife says I have to wait on the batteries and struts. Hoping to have it completed for spring.

I am not too familiar with an S-bus setup, but I think the added weight of the wires would be negligable. If you can run Tam's tailcone and ESC setup, that should save you a few ounces and help the CG, and if you ran on 6s, be nice and light. I need to do that mod before next summer, hopefully I get to it in the next few months, but honestly, my Habu is flying so well right now I dont want to touch anything!! |

Sorry if I'm missing something extremely obvious, but on the E-Flite Habu page where there's a link to download the DX8 setup for the Habu, I can't seem to figure out how to download successfully. All I get when I download is the following text:
Fly the Habu 32 with E-flite's very own David Payne's settings. The setting includes a separate nose gear steering channel on the Aux 3 knob that also has a dual rate on the mix channel. Works for item: EFL8075 Can someone show me how to actually acccess the setup? Thanks so much! Best, Kevin |
