So here is the plane from the crash video, nothing too difficult to repair. I have a replacement ESC coming the end of this week, if everything is working, it should be back in the air next week!

Anyone have any luck taking out the pitching up issue with throttle off? I did try to subtrim in down elevator and upward thrust vector so that the plane would plane out better.
But I noticed that when hand-launching in FM3 rather than sitting in a hover waiting for me to get situated with my radio, it tended to want to roll over on its back. Trying different combinations of settings was unsuccessful. I am now setting the Aux1 & 2 subtrims to -30 to try to avoid the pitch down issue at throttle ON. I love this jet and hope there is a way to filter this tendency out. Otherwise it's a blast to fly around. The kids LOVE it, especially during launch. |

As for launching, I'm going to use that inclined table method that someone posted a video of. At my flying field, they have these very long folding tables. I'm going to prop a box under one end and let the Mig take off from it. The guy in the video used the rear parcel shelf from his minivan. Worked like a charm. When you hand launch, what angle do you hold it? Are you trying to actually get it flying from the toss? The SebArt vids show the pilot just holding it in the same attitude as if it were hovering and he just lets it lift off from his hand. |

Hi Jetcat,
pls see post #796 https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=19350442 You need to adjust the COG. A slight pitch up at zero power is for purpose to allow a smoth transition into hovering. Best Stephan |

Thanks for the info! Yes I did shift the CG forward to alleviate some of the tendency. It seems to help, but it makes sense that the pitch is designed for hovering. I will just learn to anticipate that and elev down at the right time.
As for launching, I just throttle up to about 75%, hold it at the wing root in my left hand and the radio in my right. At about 4 feet off the ground I angle it forward to about 60 degrees and let go. It's the coolest thing to see this jet float away and hold itself while I get ready. It floats for about 4-5 seconds before needing input at which time I'm more than ready to fly it |

I'll give that a try. Thank you for your input!
