1 The Little Union refers to the double election of Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Moldavia and Wallachia (5 January, respectively 24 January 1859).
2 Independence proclaimed on 9 May 1877, internationally recognized in 1878.
3 The Great Union was the union of Romania with Bessarabia, Bukovina and Transylvania in 1918 and the creation of Greater Romania.
4 The leu was redenominated on 1 July 2005. As of that date 10,000 (old) lei (ROL) = 1 (new) leu (RON).
5 The .eu domain is also used, as in other European Union member states.
Romania (i/roʊˈmeɪniə/ roh-may-nee-ə; dated: Roumania;[5] or Rumania;[6][7] Romanian: România [romɨˈni.a] ( listen)) is a country located at the intersection of Central and Southeastern Europe, on the lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea.[8] Romania shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast and east, and Bulgaria to the south.
At 238,400 square kilometers (92,000 sq mi), Romania is the ninth largest country of the European Union by area, and has the seventh largest population of the European Union with over 19 million people.[9] Its capital and largest city is Bucharest, the tenth largest city in the EU, with a population of around two million.
The United Principalities emerged when the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia were united under Prince Alexander Ioan Cuza in 1859. In 1881, Carol I of Romania was crowned, forming the Kingdom of Romania. Independence from the Ottoman Empire was declared on 9 May 1877, and was internationally recognized the following year. At the end of World War I, Transylvania, Bukovina and Bessarabia united with the Kingdom of Romania. Greater Romania emerged into an era of progression and prosperity that would continue until the eve of World War II. That war caused the rise of a military dictatorship in Romania, leading it to fight on the side of the Axis powers from 1941 to 1944. It then switched sides in 1944 and joined the Allies. By the end of the war, many north-eastern areas of Romania's territories were occupied by the Soviet Union, and Romania forcibly became a socialist republic and a member of the Warsaw Pact.
With the fall of the Iron Curtain and the 1989 Revolution, Romania began its transition towards democracy and a capitalist market economy. After a decade of post-revolution economic problems and living standards decline, extensive reforms fostered economic recovery. As of 2010, Romania is an upper middle-income country with high human development.[10]
Romania joined NATO on 29 March 2004, the European Union on 1 January 2007 and is also a member of the Latin Union; the Francophonie; the OSCE; the WTO; the BSEC; and the United Nations. Today, Romania is a unitary semi-presidential republic, in which the executive branch consists of the President and the Government.[11]
As soon as I saw this picture, I remembered these two beautiful girls. The picture was taken in Granada (Spain) in our local club facilities during a F5B contest in 2006 and was reported by my friend Manuel (see report 230 here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...lo#post5728421).

I am sure there are wonderful girls in Romania, but these two are actually Andalussian women from Southern Spain

Best regards

Rafael

Nothing special. Slightly different wing shape, sleek fuse, long tail boom (but we have cut it) Same paint scheme....

Dear Mr. Wierman,

We are very sorry to hear that Chuck was not available to act as Team Manager this year. It seems obvious to us that the "B" choice has been selected for his replacement.

Kind regards,

VVolf Gang.

Post Script. As an aside, my pilots are strickly refrained from posting on "B" class websites such as yours. Further, I have pronounced firm penalties for any pilots caught posting. We have a job to do, and your attempts to distract us have no impact...hardly noticed at alll.

Germany Shirt

Subject: AW: Greetings!

Hi Eric,

Shirt was designed by Wolfgang Schultz.

The Logo is a „D“ which is the European abbreviation for Deutschland. The D is also on all German vehicle license plates.
Stars: Good idea, but we look at the football teams, they have also stars on their shirts… Each star on the back of the shirt stands for one title as Team World Champion.
Our customized shirts with names on the front have also stars on the front for
the individual World Champion.

Guntmar

(Thanks Guntmar, that's a very cool logo. Sorry to hear that the B team is restricted from Internet privileges.)

So that's what you are trying to do, Eric, distract us! Well that is just what I need to calm my nerves. Looking out at sunny weather with a gale blowing wondering if I should risk it.

How did "Wolf gang" know Chuck is not the team manager. In fact how does anyone know who, if anybody, is going? Have I missed a bulletin or something? The last one I have seen says there is no GB F5D team but Darron's facebook reference seems to say otherwise.

George,
No bulletins as far as I know, and if you're going to risk flying in a gale, George, dont risk your #1 model - you know the one, the really quick one ;-)

Mark.

Thanks, Mark. Too late! But I got off with it. Last time I flew it was a gale also and I have perfected the landing technique. I come in on speed setting, low and fast, go to first brake, then let it land and never let it look up. Once out of four I got it at my feet.

I don't know which model you mean? I didn't know I had a "really quick one". They all seem dead slow. I jacked up the elevator sensitivity in them all after your observations. It was my latest fuselage and wing combination.

The main reason for the flight was to check out the "super" battery we discussed in the pub and Steve showed us. I just got it last week. It was quite hot as I had left it heating in the car whilst we had coffee (Bob and I, Alan). My young buddy (75) only flies on Wednesdays. The first flight, before coffee was to check out my noise machine (model 3, 16x17) with my standard software as I had run out of time trying to silence it in software. Anyway the battery is, as Steve and Michel Uzan said, a big step up. 22V at 5 kilowatts on second climb. The voltage fell a lot during the flight, maybe it was too hot to start. It came out cold after a few minutes glide. At all times the voltage was above my normal ones and it is only 460gms or so. But I think I adapted my climb time OK and got 14 or 15 climbs

Am I rambling, just nervous, no more flying 'til we get there.

George, are you talking about the 65-130C nano-tech or the nano-tech A-SPEC ? Did anyone try them both to see the difference?

Eric, what about the wingspan on that B12 wing vs the B10 ?

The tip shape reminds me of the something from Jiri Baudis. Maybe a cross between a Cyril and a B10. Very nice and can't wait to get mine!

It was the first one, 2.7 65-130. It was the one Steve has and from what I remember the one Michel says he can't use because it is too powerful.
I seem to remember a recent advert which said that there is now a full range of this type.
