What you really need is a scan of the (precoloured and diecrushed) wood as well as the plan....

Has any of you seen the last of Vic Smeed's designs, the Lola. A photo is featured in Sticks and Tissue, front page of issue 51 I think. It ticks all my boxes for a 'vintage design'low wing aircraft!

Yes, perttime, you have got it that's the little beauty!

I'm on the S+T mail list for the monthly pdf of all the old treasure. Saw the wiggly cane too, very ingenious.

Balsa/Foam stirred with Carbon
HI guys

Does anyone have a scan of the Fiske Hanley from 1937. Would be a great addition to the thread, and would love one

Time for a surprise bag

Bit of a mixed bag tonight
Nice little rubber powered job from aeromodeller
and 3 Jetco scans and Chuck Gill`s Coronet.
Commercial plan scans are not best in world but good enough to build from

Nice that last one of Vic's.

Russ Hammond pic was at the '57-'58 Aussie Nationals held in Tasmania.
I think the only Nationals held in Tasmania from memory???
Russ is long gone. Passed away many years ago. He lived in Sydney and I guess you would have called him a Freeflighter of note. Even ran a modelling magazine at one time.

Chuck,

Unfortunately, the picture is all I have. If you zoom on the picture you can see a Cox TeeDee of some sort and it appears to have had an escapement for rudder control.

I guess that most on this forum may find the content of Stick and Tissue (S+T) interesting. (some of it anyway). It can be viewed online using the 'lineone' link above. Alternatively, drop a line to James Parry:

JamesIParry@talktalk.net

...and he will add you to the pdf mailing list. He is always on the lookout for 'our kind of material to put into the collection each month, no matter how random you may think it is, building, flying, photo's of your club mates flying, etc etc.

Could be: the name almost rings a bell somewhere in the back of my mind...

One reason I like British magazines is that while the writers put in good information, they also manage to keep it amusing with a touch of friendly banter or inside jokes
