the knob of foam on the hatch is a little fatter so the thickness of the battery you use might be compromised?

but 2 X 160mAh Hyperion fit nicely

the stock batts weigh 9.2g the 2 X 160mAh Hyperion's 9.9g just remember your also have the weight of the Y harness as well

For those of you who will be flying this, can you comment on how well it handles the wind - as in does it handle wind any better than other Parkzone UM's like the Mustang? I like these little planes a lot, but it's just annoying to have to either get up really early in the morning, or wait 'til the sun is almost down to fly when the wind is dead calm. I already have a UM Mustang and a regular Trojan, and for my next plane I'm debating whether to go fast or go small - Habu or Beast....

Beast batt bay:
L-2 3/4"
W-1 1/2"
H-1/2"

TP 1S 325 45C w/JST and shrink (12g)
L-43mm 1.69"
W-25mm .98"
H-5mm .20"

Hyp 1S 320 25C Bare cell (8.59g)
L-46.5mm 1.8"
W-23.5mm .92"
H-4.0mm .16"

TP 2S 325 45C w/JST and shrink (21g)
L-43mm 1.69"
W-25mm .98"
H-10mm .39"

Hyp 2s 320 25C w/JST and shrink (23.1g)
L-54mm 2.12"
W-23.5mm .92"
H-9.5mm .37"

That Thunder Power 2S 325mAh 45C pack is looking very tempting indeed!

I think the weight will be fine.
If the cg can be hit...forget about 5 min. flights.

My DX6i is still to arrive so this thing is just going to sit here, safe and unsmashed for a little bit longer.

Nice video Chuck!

Picked mine up this afternoon.

Nice work Horizon! the airframe looks awesome, very attractive looking aircraft and high quality.

The tailwheel pulling the rudder off on grass landings shouldn't be a problem as the piece of carbon rod down the hinge goes through a small hole in the plastic mount for the tailplane braces.

Havent had a chance to fly it yet, too much wind with a strong easterly sea breeze blowing.

Looking forward to flying this one!

Maybe that's why they brought it out in Australia first. They knew wind would be bad and were hoping some people would trash there's and buy another.

DX6i will work with all the micros (Parkzone, Eflite). You can store "only" 10 models though (Thanks Chuck, I really though it was only 5)... DX7 will let you store 20 different models, and DX8 illimited (cards). At the rate they are designing those UMs now, and the quality they seem to give (thanks guys for the first reports), maybe a DX6i is not enough anymore!

Definitively show that they didn't do such a great job on the velcro though... It's too narrow for two batteries, and way to long for nothing since it's going way up to the front, so a good chunck of that dead weight will not be used. A shorter but wider one would have been the same weight, but give you a better chance to stick two batteries in there... I would say this is the first "mod" I'll do on mine for sure. Last thing you want is an Hyperion flopping around in the nose because it was only stuck partially on that narrow velcro.

Great pictures Chuck (and ChancesAU who even already cut the decals for us!)

Now let's go guys, they most have hangars to store Boeing 747 in Australia too? Find an empty one, grease the security guard, and give us a video in flight!

I think the first "mod" I am going to do is to put some tape on the Leading edges of the wings and tail surfaces, just to give a little bit of protection.

The wings do apear to have a very slight airfoil moulded into them, you can see it most when you deflect the ailerons and look at the inside edge.

It definitely has a lot of throw on the tail surfaces too.
