And Mike and Ernie are there...they pulled in as we left for the evening.

The unofficial "pre"-SMALL Thursday fly-in was a lot of fun today.

Richard and I got there about 9:30 and we stayed until it was too dark to see anything.

Cloudy and cool and a little bit breezy in the AM and early afternoon, then picture perfect weather for the rest of the day.

We did a LOT of flyin...I maidened 4 of my models today and other than a broken motor wire delaying the Windrider BD-5J first flight, all went very well.

I also maidened a few other models...Richard Ng's Flying Flea and a remaiden of his Rainbow Autogyro.

The big crowd there today hopefull portends a big turnout for the event!

The SMALL Prolouge

Tom made the first flight of the day with his electrified Dakota in the mist. Later Steve Staples and Kevin Wilfong got a bunch of Cox helicopters and flying saucers into the air. I flew my Me-163C, Robbe ASW-15, Robbe Concorde, and Tom did the test flights of my RBC HM-16 Flying Flea and an ancient electrified Cox Sportavia.

The day started off 100% overcast and breezy and ended calm with a beautiful sunset. Lots of flying accomplished.

Dale Womack and his crew have provided a perfect place to fly. Pictures to come when we are not flying. Leaving for the field from Paul Willenborg's house now.

I was wondering, is the $20 fee apply to just spectators? I live in Little Rock and would like to come to the event although I have nothing to bring at the moment. I'm still relatively new to RC and am still learning! I would like to come see first hand what others are doing. Also, what times are people flying? Thanks.

Richard N is working on pictures even as I type this!

We are in for the evening on Saturday after the two main days of SMALL and it was one of the best ever...lots of planes, lots of folks and great weather!

We are going to fly Sunday AM and pack and head back to Texas at noon.

Larry, I got a pretty good video of the SMALL flight line today...I strapped a little Apitek video camera to the top of the Sonic Liner and made a number of passes up and down the runway........came out pretty great. I still have to compress it to post it as it is 86 meg in the as-taken state.....

What an amazing collection of wonderful aircraft!

I would have liked to see so many of them first hand. The weather looked great from what I can tell too!

After seeing Photo 5 in Kens attachments - I'll never feel I have too many planes again.
