Australia's Manilla Slope Fest 09 be there
Mt Borah
near Tamworth is an awesome site .Borah has 4 soarable faces with astroturf on each launch site. Its 350-500m AGL depending on the side launched from . There are cabins and camping on site as well .September has been logged in for the event , understand this is late winter so it would be a bit on the chilly side, but being slope trash that really should'nt bother to many of us. So if your interested lets hear about it DATE: Sunday 20th till Sunday the 27th September and for those making it just a long weekend , from Friday 25th till Monday the 28th September. Link for accomodation : http://www.flymanilla.com/Home/tabid/139/Default.aspx NOTE* Mt Borah cabins are booked out plenty of campsites available and hotel rooms 10 minutes away in Manilla its self. The June Longweekend recon mission was a complete success please view the promo video and check out what Mt Borah has to offer. That's what I call a flying site. We need a developed hill like in the US besides Torrey and the POM in Utah.
I'm going to buy a hill top one day. Paul www.radiocarbonart.com |

It just gets better just spoke to Godfrey again (he owns the place) there's so much extra going at Mt Borah ,There are also toilets on top and its 2WD acessible. From next spring on it will have a flyers bar and lounge at the bottom (near the cabins) running as well (along with wine tasting etc from the vineyard). There is also wireless internet across the whole property for those who need it.

August-September
You must be joking! I hope there are enough cabins for everyone because it will be sub-zero temperatures overnight around Tamworth, especially at altitude. Not everyone has a fringe to warm their forhead I think I'll give it a miss. Matt, strictly a warm weather flyer . |
