Hi Jim in K

Can you please post some pictures of your kit, I'm looking at getting a few kits from the manufacturer, they have quite a few interesting models in their range at amaizingly low prices, I'm keen to get an indication of the quality.

Many thanks

Hi guys,

Looks good, but 6.6 pounds on less than 400 square inches of wing seems kinda heavy.

true but least it's 400 inches of straight out! lol and would be a static hound so on tap shouldnt be a prob. I still love these fan trainers, and that cheap! tough to beat. I'd do it on a nice midi though myself, or super light it with a mini.

Here are some pics of the fan trainer that I just completed today.
I am using the RTR Himax 96mm which is a perfect fit for this jet.
Quality and workmanship of the kit is excellent.
No complaints on the hardware included although I did add larger wheels as seen in pics for better handling on grass.

I dont have any numbers yet from the wattmeter but I did test the fan on a 4s 3700 pack and it runs smooth. I will be using a 6s 3500 or 6s 4000 pack for flight.

For servos, I am using 3 standard size for rudder, nosegear, and elevator.
I am using digital mini metal gear servos for ailerons to save some weight.

I am looking forward to your flight report Jim! Also, anxious to hear how many watts the power system is putting out on that one.

I will checks the watts and amps tomorrow on 6s as well as weight of the plane.
I hope to maiden this weekend or sooner.

I tested 2 3s zippy 20-30c 3300 packs in series for 6s 3300.
1280 watts at 58 amps.

Yeah, looks a little wonky. Of course wonkiness is is often associated with Nitro models equipment

It does look a little different but I thought the same thing of the World Models version but it flew nicely.

I fly Army UAVs!

What is your AUW for this aircraft?

I have the UCAV and the specified weight is 6.6 lbs but you would be hard pressed to get it down to that weight without mods to have a bird that still flies fast and safe. Hopefully this airframe is different but at how cheap they are I have a hard time believing so unless there are some real world numbers posted.

The specified weight (6.6 lbs) for the plane is with a 6s pack (22.2 volts).

My plane before batteries weighs 5.33 lbs.

AUW with 2-3s 3300 20-30c packs in series is 6.55lbs which is probably the pack I will maiden it on.

AUW with 2-3s 4000 in series is 6.95lbs which should still be fine.

Weights would be a little lower if using one pack instead of 2 in series.
