My experience in using Emax servos is quite the opposite. I have been using them since 2010. When I was in Southern China I dropped in to their factory. Don't want to say too much, they manufacture private label servo for a famous brand. I met the owner more half a dozen times. Once in Nuremberg Toy Fair last year, Bob is the owner and he speaks pretty good English. Jane is his assistant, she is wonderful to talk to and deal with.

I think we all get a dud now and then. I've used Hitec servos almost exclusively for the last 15 years and got one bad NIB servo out of 60+ HS-55's. All the other Hitec sizes have been flawless unless I managed to destroy them with my own stupidity. I have to admit that one bad one still shook my confidence until I e-mailed them and they sent me a new one without asking for the bad one back. Unparalleled customer service!

I had one of the Emax servos on my 450's tail but I didn't like how much gear slop it had.

+1! I took the crap EXI metal tail rotor off of mine and went plastic. Completely solved my LONG battle with a vibration problem. No matter how much I balanced the metal one it still vibrated. Then I took out the calipers and started measuring things. That's when I found the metal blade holders to be wildly different dimensions. I didn't even save them for parts. Straight into the trash!

I finished the DFC head upgrade on my EXI500. I am using the AR7200BX for the controller. Flew it last night for the first time. It was sweeeeeettttt!

The machine has never felt so much under my control as it did last night. I could put it anywhere I wanted and it just hung there. I am very happy.

If the tail grips are metal, you can use just about any kind of grease, but if they're plastic, you need to steer clear of petroleum based greases.

I went through my order history and looked up a lot of EXI 450 and 500 spares by part number, but they aren't listed anymore. I had seen this like 0.75 years ago & posted about it, but there was limited interest.

Yea , I did the same. The only things I found were some tools . I guess it's either align or HOBBY KING . Good thing the 500 is harder to loose orientation with than the 450 , the most I would possibly need is a belt or TT gears .

They did have $4.95 shipping and I got the parts in a couple/few days.

I used the EXI parts quite a bit when I was flying outside of my skill set (or should I say flying a 450 helicopter around in general). They were ok quality, on par with HK nowadays.
