E-Jets International

In honor of our visitors last year and where we want this event to go in the future. The Heart of Ohio E-Jets committee has decided to change the name to E-Jets International.

Same great location (just south of Columbus Ohio) and volunteer staff.

This thread will be for all things E-Jets related. We will post updates here... and welcome suggestions as well.

This will now be a 4 day event. September 10,11,12,13

The Tork's (hosting club) website can be found here... http://torks.com/ ...

A picture of the field is attached for those who didnt make it last year, and for those that did...a reminder of the fun ahead. field address and coordinates are in the field picture

Great decision Kev. I think EJI '09 will be more fun than last year.

I can almost see the jugs of margarhitas lined up as we speak

I think us press guys need to work out a shift pattern of taking pictures, so we have time to fly models and not miss anything. I think perhaps we need a special spot on the other side of the runway as the contrast from the low sun was a big issue. Carl did that with permission, but I was not brave enough with all those high speed low passes. Maybe a square frame big enough for two guys standing up with plastic netting on the back, sides and top?

Just a thought?

WW....maybe you would be a little more brave if you had the margarhitas before you went to take pictures

Yes, but nothing would be in focus

Really, it might be something to consider if you are going to let anybody stand over there. An old metal framed tent with some of that day-glo plastic fence netting they use at road works would do?

Seriously, it might seem like nannying, but if someone did stand over there and something happened, would it be down to guy standing there, or would it be your responsibility as event organisors, as he would not be there without your permission?

Regardless of my investment in going to the event to take pictures, I would rather miss a picture than take that risk, but thats me, others are welcome if they find the risk acceptable.

are you going to allow spectators to visit the flyers and mgr. tents to see the jets up close? i had heard from some last yr. that it wasnt permitted and they had to watch from a distance

Lavamig, we will be having a manufacturers row in a portion of the pitts with public access. Last year there were a few manufacturers that really didn't want a lot of public access because they didn't know what to expect and frankly, just weren't staffed for it. We tried our best to honor their requests. Now that everyone has an idea of the scope of the event, things should be different. Terry
