Here's a bigger shot of my original avatar, the orange sailplane was something I started scribbling out back in the 80's (a time when I wasn't actively in the hobby). Years later I ran across those doodles and started cutting ribs. Those ribs got stashed until 2001 when I found them and began gluing wood.
I managed to test fly it around 02, discovered a weak spot in the fuse near the tail. It is a hangar queen until I finish a new fuse for it.
I used some leftover analine stain to color the balsa before I clearcoated it.
