Hi Prunner,

Sorry I missed your post. Take a look at this pic and this link to see that how the foam wing core was sheeted and then the ailerons cut off.

Strongarm5791, this is my best flying plane. Smooth, scale like flight characteristics..... a blast to fly. Sorry I didn't make more than one too!

I am working on a DC-3 right now and if it flies anything like the jug I will be happy.

Hello everyone,

I am getting ready to take the plunge building the P47, and I am gathering up all the goodies to get started.

However, I am unable to find the motor that has been recommended in this post and Mike's P51 build as well. The Electrifly 42-40-800 is discontinued, and the Turnigy 42-40-800 is no longer available as well, at least that I can find.

What would be an good replacement for this motor? This is about my only hangup at this time, and I am hoping you gurus can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

tmitom, was wondering if you ever did the build? Mark, I found the RTF weight for the jug.
Details below:

48" span
360 sq in
About 2.5 lbs RTF with 42-40-800 Electrifly outrunner and 3 cell 4000 mAh pack
440 watts with 13x 8.5 MAS E prop
16 ounce(!) wing loading.

Another summer flying season has passed here in Michigan and the Jug has been a faithful and enjoyable plane.

Well....about a pound and a half lighter than the Zero, but that's with a 5000 mah pack. I can use a smaller pack and play with the CG as I work the kinks out. I have 364 sq in
