I am building a very large (for me ) blue foam B-24 Liberator.

The wing is 6 feet 7 inches in span. I started with a flat bottom piece cut to the wing plan form and then cut the ribs to match the airfoil minus the thickness of the fan fold foam. All the electronics were then installed before the top skin.

I used for inexpensive Tower Pro motors from Grayson. All the speed controls were disabled and I use a SportBEC to power the reciever.

The fuselage was built from 1/2 inch blue foam so that I could sand the corners down to make the b-24 shape. It is not perfect scale but I think its looking pretty good so far.

All the clear parts were done by Keith Sparks of Parkflyer Plastics and they are just great. He has a whole line of pilots also that I will use to crew the Liberator. The scale of my plane was determined by the plastic parts as Keith had done them for a guy that was making a wood built Liberator so I just blew up some three views at Kinkos till they matched the parts.

I cut the wing saddle out after the final shaping of the fuselage and it is held on by magnets. It is how I get to the wing bolts and all the electronics and the receiver.

Very cool project. Can't wait to see flight report and possibly some videos.

Being a B-24 fan, I am impressed by this build.

I'm probably not alone wondering this, but could you explain about disabling the speed controllers? How, and what is the result?

I believe he means that he disabled the BEC on the speed controllers (he mentioned he was using a separate BEC).
