AMA Show in Ontario, CA 01/10/09 Boats, Ships and more...

.

Sure hope to meet a lot of new faces. I am so excited about the event, I'm having a tough time sleeping. Last years event was great. If you like RC, you've gotta go. If you love RC, you absolutely must go!

See you at the show.

Hi Rich:

I spent the day the Ontario Convention Center today getting the tables all set up with my own table covers on them so everything looks good.

I was able to get the extra tables that we needed from another vendor that does not use them so there was no cost and I also took a few of my own tables.

You do not need to bring your tables with you this weekend.

I also took care of your badge and arranged for you to get your models in through the loading dock doors by the pond, you can get in at about 8 am.

.

Thanks for info mrbassman.

Guess I will be running back home Vick.

Gents,

This is an absolute dream for me. I am enjoying this hobby to the max! Three, four years ago I had no idea any of this existed. I look forward to meeting fellow hobbyist and learning a little of what they know. It's hard to meet people who want to build otherwise.

This venue gives a first hand peek into others rc interests, offers up-coming companies a chance to launch their vision and encourages model displays.

Hope to meet you there.

For the uninitiated, it is 98% Airplanes and Heli's. AMA does stand for Academy of Model Aeronautics, after all.

Lee Upshaw usually has the largest ship vendor area and one or two other model boat vendors are sometimes there. The Inland Nautical Society always has a very nice display area of built models and a small pool to run in.

So if anyone is expecting a convention hall full of model boats and ships, this is not the place. However, the model airplane and heli stuff is awesome and there are ample opportunities to see different electric motors, radio systems, and battery systems that can be applied to model boats.
