Poll

Have you inverted (loop/flip/roll/...) Walkera 4G3 ?

Please also tell:
1. For how long have you been flying CP helis ?
2. If brushless, make/model of motor ?

Thank You.

I got mine from a previous user that was doing a lot with it. Has a Fiago brushless main/ 7A esc. It is one of the first 4G3s.

I can flip it, roll, hover inverted, and fly inverted. It is somewhat hard, but becuase I'm fluent with larger helis, it's not bad. Sorry no vids yet. I have only done 3D outside, but as I become more comfortable will try large indoor rooms to invert it.

yesterday i went seperates on my 4g3 with gws ics100e and 50e brushed motor escs, esky 0704a gyro and TheSteve modified ar6300 receiver.
dx7 transmitter gives a lot more confidence, i will try to flip it when the weather gets better. cant dare to flip it with stock tx,i cant make it work.

I HOOVER because I SUCK!
I was able to hold an invert when I first got my G- for about 2 seconds

never quite able to repeat it, once I started messing with my tx

if it was a regular tx, I feel sure I could contol it better

thanks for all the tips on tx setup in my setup thread

have helped me alot

I cant do 3d except in sim- can barely do a figure 8

but love flying the G and with decent curve setup etc, feel sure I can learn basic 3d on it

I have my gaui, but the thought of plowing the field with that restrains my 3d practice

anyone do a bl 4g3 with the dex blades yet?

bet it will roll sweet........

I`ve done loops, rolls and inverted no problems but cant get the pitch right. If i give too much negative on idle up its doing insane inverted piro`s lol even though she is perfect in every other sense. Desaprate to get the spektrum reciever in. Any one had success on a one cell with the ar6300 as i`d love to do more but lack confidence in the stock tx. Please help....i`ll reward you with vids....

I never tried any loops or flips or rolls with my full brushless 4g3 because it was the middle of winter when i had it like that but this past spring i put it back to full brushed stock motors because of the esc's i had quit working. I took it outside and did some flips and rolls with it and it was pretty easy. I just wish i had tried it when full brushless. But now i dont have a 4g3 because i got tired of it and sold it.

I don't own a 4g3,but just an opinion on the poll however, is people who spend the time to go inverted, usually spend a little bit more than they should not on just time $$$.

Im still not satify with the pitch setup in indle mode, and had crash it more than 2 times. Yeap, I using TX WK-2601 and found it quite difficult have a good pitch control in in idle mode. Tail often wag due to fast rpm. Might want to get 2801 one day.
But today, I set the thro curve between 60% to 70%, the tail seem to hold better. Full control of EXP, DIP11 V2 -30%, V1 -1 click.
Try 2 time forward flip, a fast one but nice to see its work

Performance with the 4g3 is pretty good. I believe the thing it needs most, even more than the convenience of the 2801, is a HH gyro.

I set mine up meticulously but when the tail is trimmed for upright hover it is very difficult to get the exact same pitch and rpm for inverted hover....meaning you have to be a master of the tail inverted to pull it off. I am not!

Have rolled and flipped it many times but sustaining inverted flight with my tail skills is difficult.

Going Spektrum HH in a matter of weeks and can't wait!

Try on 2nd attemp this afternoon with my friend.

Idle up and NO WAG this time. I still not convince this is happening.

I do a quick flip much more easlier than before. Do a right roll, man this heli roll very nice. After much more confident, I do a half flip and try to hold it. Yes, inverted about 5 sec

Actually, Im still confuse what going on. Why did the gyro suddenly hold so well? Im using default walkera bl main motor and main esc, 16T with 2.9g bl tail motor.

If you have a sim, fly your heli inverted with a bunch of right rudder trim. The constant CCW rotation will really get you up to speed on controlling the tail while inverted. Just letting the heli slowly rotate on axis and keeping it in one spot is also great practice.

Jay,
Are these videos in real time or are they recorded? I've been working on getting a wireless camera into the 4g3 for some time now...
Any chance you could post a list of materials?
Thanks,
Nick
