Falcon F5 : First test Flight

Body of Falcon F5 is same as Buteo V2.
The surface body is not for Falcon F5. The surface body of Falcon F5 is in the process of making.

Falcon F5 First test Flight by wing 1 (3 min 23 sec)

Looks awesome...can't wait to see the progress and what you can achieve with this one. I myself would love to see a great glider once you get enough altitude...great work!!

3D RC Ornithopter Falcon F5 third Flight by Wing 6

3D RC Ornithopter Falcon F5 third Flight by Wing 6

Falcon F5 third Flight by Wing 6 (1 min 46 sec)

Because a thrust of Wing 6 was not enough, I am making new Wing(Wing 7 & 8) to fly well. Wing test is doing.

It still takes time till FalconF5 flies properly.

Look at a making process if interested.

It is very interesting to see all the different wing design you have made. Do you have any flight simulator where you can obtain information about flying-speed / flapping rate / thrust; to compare the different wings? It is good to have one to test the Ornithoptes before crashing them in a proper flying test.
I am using this flying test-bench as you can see on the picture.

Kazu,

well done!...you becoming beter and beter. Try to create wing control to make more stable flight.

I just tested my new falcon today:

Thank you for your message.
Your Falcon is splendid. Flight and Gliding are very beautiful.
You are my great leader.

There is a question.
Is control of a flight of your Robird only Tail of right and left?
My ornithopter gets possible to do sudden turning by slant of Tail and Up of an elevator.

I understood that hardness of the body was necessary for flight control by my Tail device.
Because Body of Sean's ornithopter is supple, reinforcement was necessary.
Therefore I made Body with a carbon plate.

I tried to build wings of different structure.
As a result, in wings of a swallow type, I understood that structure of wings of your Robird was the best for a good thrust and good flight control.

I understood that a direction of wind of wings influenced flight control.

Your device is splendid.

I make it with continuation of trial and error.

In the beginning I used a V-tail, now I use flaps in the wings for rol function and tail for up and down. If you master that any shape of wing will do the job.

Why donít make one simulator? Mine is made from a second hand Marine Radar Scanner. I am only using the support with the very good ball bearings.

I am amazed!!
Do you use a flap function in the whole wing? ( like as mechanism of Shrika ? )
Or do you use part of a wing for a flap function?
