After more than five years I almost lost the miss2 to the thermal gods yester day,but got lucky and found her after a 1/2 mile walk.Wish I had had the canon to get a photo she was hanging from the landing gear just 7' up in a pine tree.

You sure got lucky on that one. At least you didn't have to hire a tree climber to go up and get it down. And you actually found it to start with.
Not much going on here today. It's windy, cloudy, 63. I'm going to clean the fish pond later on if it warms up.

I had her down to about 300' and couldn't get her to fly out the side of the hat sucker,so I did a tight right sprial with no throttle and used one of the park buildings as a reference for the spot she was headed to.

Hi Guys,

Some of us use hawks to help us locate thermals. Here is a guy that does that too. The difference is that he is a para glider pilot. He is also a falconer. He flies with his hawk in the thermals. The guy in front must be a paying customer. This is cool stuff filmed over in Nepal.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that we are having a wild weather fluke here in Seattle. Starting tomorrow, it will be 80 degrees and for the next 7 days or so it will be 80 or more every day. See chart. It's usually raining by now. I 'll just have to make the best of it, and fly some of my planes.

Hi Guys,

I forgot to mention that Costco has a really nice blue plaid shirt in stock right now. It's from Field & Stream. It's heavy quilted lining, with a hood. It zippes up or buttons up. This is a super nice shirt for cool weather, now get this $22.00 It was way to cheap not to buy. Check it out.

I'm sorry Scottie. Maybe you can order one from Field & Stream's store. Try a Google search and see what you get.

But it is true, he has stated for the record that he is planning to attend the Seattle Area Soaring Society 2011 Wood Wings competition and fly-in. Now full disclosure requires me to clarify that he is going as a photographer, but he is going none the less. Bob, I hope you have a very good time and just for the heck of it throw a plane in the car, who knows it may be a good flying day.

I always hate quoting myself but it is easier than trying to retype stuff. Bob, did you ever get to go to this? If you did do you have any pictures?
