That's BS, by the way. If you learn your orientations first, you can beat the heck out of the heli at sufficient altitude that you can recover from most anything. You don't have to crash to learn.

Sufficient altitude is good unless the heli self destructs in mid air like I saw a t-rex 600 do a few weeks ago....I think what they meant is pushing the heli beyond its limits....

You have to be bloody good to out fly a heli, well a 450 with a good set up that is.

I agree with osterizer

I don't know about that... probably every great pilot has pushed his plane to the limit and put it in the dirt. Not just up high but down low. Once you get good with altitude you will start getting down low, and the ground comes up pretty fast!

No doubt that you can learn to fly great up high, but if you want to be the best you have to bring the heli/plane down close to earth one day.

Yea I typically fly my heli at eye level to maybe 15 feet high. So I dont have time to recover... I dont know why I dont ever fly higher... Just doesn't feel right.

Thanks for the suggestions on the helis guys.

yeah, I'm the same way HelivsFMX, I just can't fly to high with the heli it feels to weird! The max I go and start to feel uncomfortable flying is maybe 40-50 feet.

Let us know what is metal and what is not, and over all thoughts.
I think the hub, fly bar see saw, and the fly bar controls, are metal.

That is the name of the game get the best deal you can get where you are.

Hey guys, I need some help with my hk450 (CNC) tail setup. I cannot get equal pitch from the tail blades when I move it left/right. I don't have a pitch gauge for the tail so this is aprox...
When I move it full rudder stick to left, I get tons of pitch, probably 10 degrees or more. When I move it to the right, I get maybe 4 or 5 degrees of pitch. Which doesn't seem to be enough to push the tail if I'm doing a fast turn with rudder. Especially when I do a high stall turn, most of the time I can't get the tail to come around when I give it right rudder stick, but left rudder stick its fine. Is there a way to adjust just the tail pitch so I get 0 degrees when the slider is centered and equal pitch on both sides. I know how to adjust pitch by moving the servo on the boom but this is on the tail itself. Hopefully this isn't too confusing, having hard time explaining. Is this a common problem..? I couldn't find much by searching.
I'll post a picture later if need be.
My tail is set up properly in rate mode, flies great in HH.

I have a belt cp v2 and its tail slider is set up a bit differently. Never had this problem with it. I had the plastic tail on my hk450 before, and also never had problems with it.
