Logo 500 DX VS. Logo 500 3-D

Hello to all the electric helicopter flyers out there!!!! I have a question to ask to anyone that may be in a position to answer.

I have ordered a Mikado Logo 500 DX helicopter thinking that it was the 3-D version of the same. I have tried to find more information about what makes these two helis different besides the price. The Logo 500DX was $ 438.00 and the Logo 500 3-D is more than that but not sure how much more. they both look identicle to each other. The Mikado web site does not offer detailed information. If anyone out there can help me with information I would greatly appreciate it.

Very Respectfully,

Send it back and get the 3D. The DX does not have complete bearings and some other small things. It is very worth it IMO.......Ron

TOO LATE FOR THAT??? Can you upgrade the dx version into the 3-d machine? I heard the quality of these kits is something to behold. I am not into the 3-d stuff, so not sure if that makes a differance

Hi Mike,

I have a very good description of the differences in an email from ReadyHeli, but I'm upgrading and reinstalling that computer today, so it's inaccessible. If you can hang in there until tomorrow I'll be happy to post it.

By the way, the Logo 500 listed here is the 3D version, ReadyHeli does not stock the DX version:

You can download the manual which is common for both version on mikado website.
There you can check all differences

I have a 500DX, which I am upgrading to 3D, at least for what seems interesting to me.
thrust bearing tail rotor
couple of extra bearings holding flybar
ball raced mixing arms
ball raced tail rotor lever
In my opinion, the $$ difference is not really justified.

I think the dx has plastic swash and motor mount the 3/d has aluminum. also heavier flybar paddles. I would contact Ready Heli.

As I recall, the differences are the aluminum swash, lighter flybar paddles, a hardened main shaft, and a bunch of ball bearings.

I guess all I've added to this thread is the mainshaft, since you guys have already covered the other items.

Here's the email I mentioned from ReadyHeli about the differences between the two Logo 500 versions:

Hi Daniel,

The difference between the DX and 3D are as follows:

500 DX

- Bushings in all the mixer arms in the rotor head.
-Plastic canopy
-No idler pulley in tail case
-Bushing tail pitch slider lever
-Non trusted tail
-Plastic swash plate

The 500 3D

-Bearings in all the mixer arms on the head
-GF canopy
-Idler pulley in tail case
-Bearing supported tail slider lever
-Trusted tail
-CNC swash

I have most if not all the parts for the 500 DX in stock at all times since it shares most of its parts with the logo 10. I choose not to stock the kit since it is obsolete. If you would still want it special ordered I would be more than happy to do so.

Thank you for choosing Ready Heli!

Hope that helps,

Thank you for the clarification between both the kits. I have ordered a kit from you already and it is on its way. So, If i understand your e-mail correctly you do not stock the DX-500, Right? So the only version you sell is the 3-d version which is the one I want. Great news I can hardly wait for the kit to arrive, as I have heard great things about Mikado helis

Sorry for the confusion - I don't work for ReadyHeli or have anything to do with them. That's just an email I received from them as a customer like yourself.

But yes, if you bought a Logo 500 from them, you got the 3D version.

OK ! now that we got that clear, I wanted to ask any of you what comments you may have about this helicopter. I have never flown anything from Germany. And I have heard good things about this line of helicopters. My Questions are things like, quality of materials, design, durability esp in a crash type situation, and any other general info. I have heard that they are a bit more expensive in terms of repair cost in case you fly it like a smart bomb............lol
