1st Stang is in the books.

After about 4 months, (thats how long ago I cut the panels) I finally got the Blu51cd together. All thats left is find cg & throw the gear on it. she'll get my 3 hs 55's as I will add rudder to the design, 2208/14 w/ 18 amp suppo combo. Still not sure what prop though.

Well, the usual suspects showed up at Callaways this morning and we decided to fly first, so if anyone showed up and didn't see any greyhairs talking models, we apologize. Wind was wierd, had already come up from a relatively calm morning, had lots of up and down drafts, Flew the 42"BB but brought her down after only 3 min. too much fighting wind and not enough fun. switched to the official windy day flyers, 24"BB's and flew out two packs. We could get them up to where they were pretty tiny (500ft?) on some lift off trees(?) and glide down, once taking over a minute to get her back to the field. Tough to beat those little guys for windy flying.

Nice! I am very jealous!
I did get to take the newly kf'd Snowball to the local ballfield and sent her up. I can't believe how good that thing is in the high winds too. I actually broke 1 prop but only because the wind tossed her over after landing & she rolled to the pavement. GWS props break just too durned easy. I will gladly pay double for the APC's.

Pilots - come on over and fly with the "Team Mosquito RC Un-Club" at Greenmead in Livonia tomorrow (SAT) morning (usually a great turn out early). It is the best RC Un-Club in Livonia.........

We fly all types and sizes (big, small, E-powered, nitro, foamy, balsa, fixed wing, rotary wing, good, bad and ugly). All are welcome.

We use the big lot to takeoff and landing (for you gear guys) and a big strip of grass for the belly landers. I have a 1000+ watt HIGH POWERED Multiplex Twister EDF due to maiden (hopefully tomorrow if all the planets align)....and I will need all that grass strip to bring her down I am sure.

It is going to be good flying weather to burn a few batteries (or nitro if that is your gig).

Best Regards.

Anytime you can come on over.....we have a nice long flying season ahead of us.

The turn out is usually great on Sat and Sun mornings and most evenings (even evenings during the week). I try to get there for Thurs evenings, Sat and Sun Mornings and Evenings (all these days subject to my wife giving me clearance of course).

Even more fun

I drove over to Greenmead on Wednesday during lunch break to see the flying site. The big parking lot is just great.

Unfortunately, tomorrow I have to watch my daughter since my CEO (wife) is off to Virginia Beach for US Cheer Leader finals with my other daughter. Good thing they left early since the big brown truck showed up with this http://www.caliberhobby.com/foxhawk.html.

This will be my first Jet and it will go on the shelf for a while, but with 45% discount I could not resist. So far I made from the Ember2 to the E-flite SEA5a to the PZ T-28 to the AT P-51. Some more practice with the T-28 and will give this jet a chance.

The huge parking lot will be just perfect for the maiden.

Gents flying was short this morning due to early winds.....we are all there again tomorrow morning (weather looks favorable). One of the guys has a maiden planned on his (get this).... RC Skydiver..... it is sooo neat. I will give an update if he makes his "jump".

Keep 'em flying boys.

Excercised some of the fleet this AM

Just got back from flying out at the township park. Wind was starting to kick up a little. Had fun in spite of it. Even got desperate enough to use a mud puddle for takeoffs and landings for the SeaBB. That was challenging and fun.
