Omg! Led's On A Plane!

So, question -

I have an Air Hogs U-Build it, and being winter here, it gets dark around 5:30-6:00... I get off work at 5:30, and don't get home until 5:40-5:45.

So, I want to put LED's on my plane to see it in the dark.

Here's my question-

Would it be easier to A

Hook the LED's to my motor wires, which would draw curent from the motor of an already under-powered plane, or

Use 2 1.5 volt (small watch) batteries and the LED's?

I want one on each wing tip, and one on the tail, so 3 in total, probably parralell.

A typical small LED draws 20mA.
A typical RC plane motor draws 100-1000 times as much.

Any questions left

You should be fine hooking them up right to the main battery with current limiting resistors etc.

well, I tried using 2 watch batteries on the plane, 3 volts, for 2 LED's in parralell, a hair too heavy...

I could definately to it in a series with a switch, straight into the battery mains with resistors... Maybe a POT? How small do pots come in? Variable so I can turn the lights up and down... Needs to be teeny tiny, smaller than a watch battery.
