Flying in Miami

I'll be in Miami next week for a couple of weeks. I'd like to check out some local Park Flyers while I'm there and see what's flying. March 9 and 15,16. I can't wait to get to where it's warm for a change.

cadmanpilot,

Where in the Miami area? I live in West Kendall. I am a solo flyer.

For more info check with Hobby Nut at (305) 235-9584 and ask for Clark. He will tell you of other park flyers.

In west Broward County (north of Miami) you can check Markham Park if you have AMA. Here's the info on the club:

Hope this helps......

elau,

Thanks for the response. I see that you are south of Miami. It looks like I'll be in North Miami. Like you, I am also a solo pilot. I was looking for some local electric parkflyer weekend gathering places to check out the flying action. Traveling around the Miami area will not be a problem. I'll also check out the Hobby Nut as suggested. Thanks again.

Hi Folks!

Did a search and found this...

Hmm, isn't there a place in Miami to fly a parkflyer?

I've been living here for a little more than a year now and am itching to get airborne again.

I live near Orange Bowl area, Perrine and Markham flying field seem too far at the moment.

Help! ;-)

Finally. I'll be there this coming weekend, what time do you folks usally arrive at the field?

I'll bring my cam to take snapshots.

BTW, do you have a freq chart for the group? I'll order a radio this week and it would be a good idea so as not to get a duplicate channel.

Thanks and looking forward to meet the group.

Hi James,

Is that the park just south of Bayside? If so, that's even closer to where I live and work... That gives a whole new meaning to the word 'lunch break'

What plane do you fly there?

edit :

Saw your pics at the photo contest thread, I think I know which park you fly at Hope I could complete my gear by Feb, would you mind if I join you?

Jamesgood: Where do you work in Doral? I work in the area also.

No frequency charts. There is only four of us.

We are usually there between 6:45 to 7:00.

Luis, I work at 9800 NW 41st st, opposite the publix. I actually saw another possible flying field today, down by 98th and 836.

I'm probably going to Bicentenial tomorrow morning to sort some problems out of my P-38, but will come and join you guys soon.

Rogrigo, of course you're welcome! Where do you live? I live just by the Venetian causeway. I like Bicentenial park, because there's noone else there, I've got hard runways, and grass to fly over, and a great backdrop. You have to mind the homeless people (actually, they're pretty cool, sometimes they ask about the aircraft), but I wouldn't like to be there after dark...

Luis. Neat! Yeah, I work for World Fuel, in the big new office building opposite Publix.

What do you fly? I fly small stuff, IPS powered TigerMoth, my twin IPS P-38, and my CDROM powered Hellcat. Where do you fly? I sometimes fly in the park off NW87th, just south of 41st.
