auw is ~190g seems like a brick compared to your indoor ones but its great for outdoor use and hovers at half throttle. try it out, you wont be disappointed.
great setup have you tried a 8040 prop? on your setup?

yea thats how i started off, it has enough power but the 9050 gives it a wider power band/range so power modulation is smoother and it seems to give all the surfaces more authority (might be a placebo effect). on the slofy with the 9050 the prop caused too much torque roll on the plane, but the yak doesn't notice it.

Our group found the same thing. The 1300 seems like a dud compared to the 1500 unless you go with a bigger prop on the 1300.

Have to Build One

Im waiting on some foam to arrive and I just have to build one of these to see what all the fuss is about (just kidding).
Sounds like an awesome plane. Im all for the 9050 on the BW w 3s.

Smaller Edge

I scaled back my Edge to a size closer to the Yak. I also didn't like the looks of the bigger Edge's Fuselage, so I changed it a little as well. Mainly changing the looks of the canopy. This one took awhile to finish painting, but I like the looks of the Castrol Edge 540, so it was worth the extra effort. I haven't had a chance to weigh it yet. I'll wait till I get some of the components installed. Hope she fly's as well as the Yak and I'll be pleased.

Skinny Yak change A plans here!

Skinny Yak plans have been updated. The following changes have been incorporated.
  • Angled cut lines on aileron counterbalances 45 degrees.
  • Trimmed 1/8" off the inside edge of elevators
  • Opened radius of elevator clearance in rudder be 1/8" and simplified the cut out.
Ken

Edit: Removed plans and added revision "c" in new post.

We'll see how she fly's this weekend. I'll probably need leadfeathers help in creating an Adobe file with template drawings on it. I've never created plans before.

Mark,

I have been generating Leadfeathers plans for him. Your Edge looks really great. Nice paint job! Dan usually supplies a dimensioned sketch, photo, or scanned hand drawn image files. These aircraft are fairly simple to generate drawings for, so, I will help if you want.
