Hello,
Great thread. I am a dlg flyer, but want to build one of these electrics for some aerobatic fun.
Where can I buy the foam?
Thanks!

Hey guys, just finish my first scratchbuilt, with this amazing model!!! After 2 nights and this helpful treath, I was ready to madden last night at the beach in Acapulco bay, Mexico… at 12:00 am the slofly was the center of attention and flew great! I just have a few touches on the ailerons to make since they are not responding as I would like…. Here is my setup, let me know what you think:
-Blue wonder motor
-3 900 HTX servos
-ar6100 rx
-zyppy 3s lightmsx 1000 mah 15c
-18a ESC
-8040e prop

I really enjoy this build!!

Ice,
I'm glad you like it...I never did have a lot of good luck with it....probably just my poor building skills.

You could probably go a little lighter on the gear...

lose the HTX900's for 500's

Use a smaller ESC

And use a 350ma 2s

Just doing that would save you about 2 oz's.

Loved your design... and what are the pieces I noticed on the pic hat you have on the wings and ruder?

I just finished one. It will be some time until it is calm and warm enough to fly it outside.

Thanks, the things are brakes, to get it even slower, there are many kinds, these are my first try, and just taped on but still in place, I checked my radio and noticed 33 hours with my SloFly 28 so far.

Iceman, I´m a newbie, don´t take my word for beeing some rule, I´m not testing/developing either, function is important but if it works OK I prefer to make it look good instead of improve, rather build a new plane .
But my brakes looks as below, 100x40mm on eileron, 70x40 rudder, they have to be 90 deg from centerline, you can see I´ve moved them a bit.

So people understand

HurriHeli made a slofly looking plane out of depron! its not a EPP slofly!

its his own version of a Slofly (the EPP slofly can take a crash and bounce back like new his plane will not hold up under the sticks of a new pilot as well) his is also more of a patern plane for indoor flight as air brakes slow the plane down enough to add smooth lines to flight.

What is the preferred slofly? The slofly mini 3d or the super slofly?
