Mine arrives any day as well. It's getting a pair of Wicked 4000s and 40A escs. How are the retracts looking?

I'm wondering if cut down wattage/SF 3 blade impellers would work in the stock housing to reduce the amps. any thoughts?

First impressionis it looks pretty good actually. Thebox is big, 32" x 32 x 6" deep. I now realize I only have retracts for the mains no nose retract I though I took a photo of the gear, I guess I will have to take one and post it. They are mechanical retracts similar in style to the Executive Jet retracts. I will say I am baffled in regards to the exit nozzles. The open up after the fan (see post #2 photo #1) I am definitely going to remedy that with some exit nozzles.

In regards to gear I am debating if I want gear at all. I have no real place to ROG as I fly on grass fields and the mains are very short and you can not really rotate to takeoff as the exhaust nozzles hit the ground. More to come

I think hand launch will be good actually. Here are a few more photos. The photo of the gear bay shows two small molded "dash" marks. They appears to be the CG location. So I am going to fill the bay with some foam and put two finger holes there for launching. There seems to bee good lipo space. The photo I have shows two 2S2200 lipos and the CG was pretty close like that with a pair of Wicked 4800s in the rear but I did not have the ESC in the slots.

I tested a nose gear from the Executive Jet and it looks like it could work if needed.

Is it EPS foam? The bead size looks like it could be EPP/EPO???

It is the regular style foam. Though it seems a little higher density than a GWS type model.

Thanks for all the pics, logging on. Should have mine before the weekend.

Unsubcribing from the other thread. No time for politics, need to play.

Mine`s comming from Nitro Planes, I`ll try to compare to the pics that Don posts to see if it`s the same mold.

I got them from a supplier in China but it looks like the ARF airframes are at Nitroplanes for about the same price.

I weighed all the parts on the scale. Here is my weight break down.

All foam parts and EDF units: 14 ounces
Two Wicked 4800 motors : 4.2 ounces
Two Pentium 40 ESCs: 2.5 ounces
Two servos and servo extension: 1.0 ounce
Receiver: .3 ounces
Two 3S lipos: 6.8 x 2 = 13.6 ounces

Total: 35.6 ounces plus ~2 oz for other stuff so lets call it 38 ounces. I should be getting about 700-750 total watts. So that is about 300 watts per pound Just how I like my EDFs!

I forgot to mention, if you need to touch up the black paint use Testors Model Master Spray Enamel Flat Black #FS37038, it is a perfect color match.
