Fri 11/14/08 and Sat 11/15/08
Two days of fantastic wind, multiple broken records, multiple broken planes, hundreds of burned homes and PB's all over the place. And the day is still young...
I managed to squeeze a flight in today despite all the smoke from the Sylmar fire. Flying conditions have been as good as possible the last two days, winds averaging 25+ and gusting to 50 at times. For once the weatherservice nailed the forecast. I flew with a friend yesterday in the epic conditions and blue skies and despite the lack of radar, easily exceeded my PB by a wide margin. Today was even faster. Ballasted MCT with wings bending = very fast and very big smiles. Below are a couple photos I took with my iPhone of the last 2 days. I wish I had video and better images. Nice shots. That MCT is gorgeous.
As for that wing with what looks like a rock holding down, well... |
