Jeff,

Hope to make it again in 09. Wife and I really enjoyed our first visit in 08. "Southern Hospitality" is alive and well and living at Mac's Field in Americus Georgia.

Will bring more Wisconsin beer and cheese this time.

PS: In your planning sessions, it would be nice if you could separate the campers that run their generators all the time from those that don't. We had to re-locate twice to avoid the exhaust fumes and noise. We have a generator in our motorhome but did not use it in the 4 days we were there. Hope I'm not to "pickey" but to keep my wife happy and keep her traveling to fly-ins with me.....

Ron,

I'm glad you brought this up.

Where do you guys suggest we put RV's that plan on using generators? I'm thinking on the west side of the field on the back row.

You could designate an area on the west side, on or just beyond the back row in the field if it will not be planted again this year. There are usually some generators just behind the flightline 10X10 sun shelters. Folks use them to power battery chargers I guess. Will they be impacted or will they be left alone if they don't get run at night while folks are trying to sleep?

That's going to be hard to define, other than to have generator quiet hours say from 11pm to 6am or something like that.

Good luck with that one Jeff...

Woo Hoo!!!! I have already started four models this week I plan on bringing up there. I just hope they will last. Time to stock up on the grilling food and stockpile the gasoline for the motorhome! I think last time it was about 3.69 a gallon. We only ran or generator for about two hours a night to catch the local new and charge the radios and laptops. Now I think the west side of the field was already "generator alley" with all the generators about thirty feet from their travel trailers. This was out by the outhouses back there. There was just that many people in RVs that year...and it just is going to get bigger. Four year in a row I am shooting for and maybe this year my father will fly. "heads up!"

P.S. Without good friends like "Tipstalled" I would still be trying to set up my "EZ UP" by myself over two years ago. Thanks to his lessons, the past year I was the "EZ UP" helper for all who needed it.

Jeff,

Don't remember which was the "west side" but anyplace downwind would work for the fume problem.
