NEW GWS EDF 40 and 30

GWS just sent me the following information:

To all dear customers,

We are very happy to introduce GWS new product, the EDF40, ducted fan. After the big success in introducing EDF75 & EDF50 in to market, we are very confident and believe EDF40 will be another success.

Because of its high efficiency/output/speed and ultra light, EDF40 will be used on many GWS Jet Fighters coming in this year. Detailed specification, please check GWS website http://www.gws.com.tw/english/produc...tem/edf40.htm.

EDF40 has passed all quality tests and pilot run will be in March. Please place your order now for this small and efficient GWS EDF40.

3oz thrust on 8.4v, hmm, will have to be very small indeed, but the numbers are right up there with the edf50, and 10mm smaller to boot! Might just have to pick up a couple.

I've just received the EDF-40 sample as shown in the following picture. The inlet ring is built-in and the heatsink is also included. They are perfect power units for samll jet because of EDF-40's smaller diameter and decent thrust.

Does anyone have any dimensions for the EDF40? I have a few thing I'd like to design around this.

EDF40

Same thrust with probably less battery requirement. And the thrust sounds nice, but I bet the velocity out the back is the best part. You can now have your little jet and some extra speed! I'll have to get a few off you when they come in Perry. And I didn't forget I promised you some Depron, sorry I have not been flying at the Rancho lately, but a EDF project of mine has been consuming most of my time lately. And I still need to get out there and show everyone my Astro Fan Sabre.

My vote is for a F-104 Starfighter. My all time favorite jet.

I'd love to see a C-5 galaxy, or a KC-10/DC-10, my Wing flies both airplanes, and we're getting C-17s in 2006! =) I'd love to fly one in our colors.

If fighters have to be it, I'd say the S-37 Berkut

Jets

I got a good one for you! F-11, it has a real easy basic fuse and a easy swept wing. Kinda like a Sabre jet with a nose.

I would love a:
Intruder
F-4
C-17
Harrier??? Looks cool!
(don't know about verticle take off)

Most of all: B-52

(imagine crabbing in onto the runway with the little motors whining in the air. Would settle for only a few working motors and the rest dummies.) Those are my thoughts
