HARRY- Great build. I really like the details you are adding , including a wheel house that I know will turn out spectacular. You should have no problems with power with that motor- gear box set. It should draw little amperage and give you more torque than you could ever use.

Pilot house windows

These took awhile....

I made up the replacement window frames and got a quick coat of primer on. Going to need some filler but I'm happy how they came out. I made up a pattern for all the widows which will make making up the "glass" that much easier. More to come, Harry

H. Lauer, I am finally getting around to finishing my tug hull #490. I have changed a few things to make appear more modern but still it's a Douglas Greg.

Very clean build. The inside of you tug looks better than the outside of most of my ships. A sponge to catch lube and is that carpet lining the hull?

something to strive for...

Ken,

You really did a super job on your tug. I like the color scheme/changes. How long have you been working on it? It has been a fun build for me so far, something a little different. You will have to show some pics of it on the water when you can. Thanks for sharing! Harry

Thanks for the comments, I like to paint the inside with flex-stone paint, it looks nice and gives a finished look (also hides imperfections). The sponge is something I picked up from my sailboat days and works great in my PT boats too.
I bought the tug in November of 2000 from Dwight but stopped working on it in 2001. I have been re-inspired by all of you to finish the boat and get it on the water.

My Grandfather had built a live steam verson back in 1976 and thought you might like to see some photos. (His was the Rebel so I just had to build the Yankee) The "S" on the stack is for his last name Sharpe.
