Diving supportvessel Well Enhancer 1:75

Hello guys,

Right now i'm working on a model of de Well Enhancer which is currently under construction at IHC-Merwede in Krimpen a/d IJssel in Holland.
For my study i've been doing some work on it, so i thought like, well, why don't i build a model of her?
And so i thit.
It's my second scratch-build model, but she's starting to look better than my previous one.

Here are some pics of her:

As allways, first the keel. And i know that this isn't the full keel.

This gives an good idea of the sheer sizes of this model.
She's 1,76m long, sorry but i don't know it in inches or anything like it.

This picture is taken yesterday, and shows pretty good how the work is going on.
The stern is allready ready being polyestered and grinded.

The bowthruster in place.

And some pics with my previous and not yet fully completed model besides her.

Is my English such terrible, or is the langaugecheck in the rong setting?

Greetings Josse

Good job! That looks like it will be a large model. It's very nice to see work from the other side of the Atlantic.

Hello Ghost,

She's 1,76meters long, so she indeed is pretty long.

I've fotgot to tell what the propulsion will be.
She's going to have 2 Speed 500 E motors from Graupner, attached to 2 Graupner thrusters with 40mm 4-blade propellers.
The speed should be about 1,4 to 1,6 knots.
I want to make the thrusters 180degree turnable, to have as realistic propulsion as is possible.

Also forgot to say that this model will get interior with lights as well.
In the cabins are already coming about 240 LEDs.
On the real one this is the amount of lights in the cabins.
This model is going to be like the sun at night!!!!!!!!

Hello guys,

Here's the first photo-update!!!!

The progress on the stem.
The construction of the other parts of the ship will have to wait until the hull is fully watertight.

That's it for now.

240 LEDs? Wow. They'll see that from the Space Station.

Hello 420TEE,

That's only inside the superstructure.
There will also be navigation lights and decklights.
So you needed a light for working on your models at night?
I'm building a very special one right now
Problem is that i won't start with placing the lights for the next months or so, and when it starts it will be in small amounts a time.

By the way, if my English isn't correct, i would like to hear that.

Greetings Josse

Yeah your english is fine and I don't think we have any spell cheker. Or at least I can't find one. By the way, 240 LEDs, just for the inside of the cabin! I don't think I've used that many LEDs in my life! I can't wait to see this boat coming together, looks like its going to be an amazing model.

when you come to get deck figures, check out Hornby OO scale railroad figures, (1:76), they're bound to do some dock workers and firemen as well as other workmen.

.01 on a scale increment wont really be noticable

Hello Guys,

I thought that you would like to see a picture of 20 LEDs wich i already have burning, to give an idea of how much light there will be coming on this model.
Remember that most of the light is coming at the inside, and won't be very much visible.

The fun thing is, that those lights are 3mm in diameter, and therefor fit in de decks, wich will be made of 2 layers of 3mm thick plywood with some space in between it making the deck a realistic 10mm thick.

Hello guys,

Here's another photo-update.

One side of the stem is almost done.

The other side (right hand on this photo) is not as far as the other, but it won't take long before the hull is ready for the polyester.

A colegue gave me a engine from a broken screwdriver.
This engine will be placed in my tugboat.

If anyone would like to see the buildlog of my tug, i can make a topic about i it, although it's almost finnisht.

Greetings Josse
