Mike, thanks for the nice video of the Empire. One of my better takeoffs and you preserved for posterity!
Hope to see you out to Chilliwack again someday. My camper is always open to you, and to anyone of the other nice folks up there, too.

It was a pleasure having you here, as always!
Did you never come across this during your sojurn here (it's at Cardrona)?

YES! I saw that driving up to the Wanaka Museum to the north. I had been told about it by the hotel when I said I was going. I even have a photo of it somewhere (before digital)

BIMBO Mugs 2018

Bad news! Val Sparks, who runs the pottery where I get the BIMBO mugs has decided to close down in mid April. She asks if I want any mugs for 2018 before she closes, so I've made a preliminary order of six. The mugs are usually 10 each.

So a couple of questions, fellow BIMBs.

Who would like to order a mug for this year's BIMBO meet? At cost price of course.

I thought perhaps an Auster for this year's plane, but I'm open to suggestions...but I should let Val know in the next week or so.

For overseas members, I'll have to charge postage: even the SPNOKA budget, grand though it is, can't stretch that far, especially after funding my float test tank in the garden.

Hello Mike

Am I too late, you said "the next week or so", Sorry!

I got off the plane from the US yesterday. Today its raining. All my Californians are getting rain too, but they've been praying and dancing for it.

Well, with the rain and everything, I had to make a start on my new project. I've had the plans for the Dragonfly since 2013 and they've been calling out to me all this time. It might be premature to suggest a Dragonfly as our next mug, but I'm on it now. I've been studying the excellent build thread by ChrisS from the third rock out, linked from the I.P. thread.

Good work Nick! Not too late but the Dragongfly, pretty though she is, might be too tricky. You clearly had a good time in CA...
