Winter Flying At Quarry Field?

Can we fly during the winter? I'm pretty sure the road to the runway was plowed last year, but I've notice that it's not this year.

Is it alright to blaze a trail (on the road of course!) at your own risk? Or, is the field closed until it is plowed or the snow melts?

I assume that if the field is open while snow is on the ground that we are keep the gates closed at all times to keep the snomobiles out.

Thanks,
Nick

Nick, We can fly in the winter. If the road is not plowed try to stay on it as much as possible, And yes try to keep the gate closed but it does not have to be locked as long as someone is there. At least that was the decision we made lasst year.

A plowed bank may be a challenge. It is usually difficult to plow back someone elses pile. Maybe someone is looking to give their truck frame and tranny a workout.

I like the one coming in from the north. Sure wish I could have zoomed more, but then I may not have gotten the tree line. That is what sells the shot, I think. All the pictures were put in in order, by the way. It looks like RC Groups changes the order by their own criteria. They were very easy to load though! It is great being able to load pictures on our VAM site!

By the way Jim, I love that "leaving" shot! Man, that snow was really coming down.
