I'm keeping mine in the box :-) Boy watch out for that Scorpion motor. Mine is way too powerful for what I am used too and it is just the CopterX 430L.

yeah I put a 430X on it instead.

In doing so i discovered a possible problem with the motor mount. The align motor has a circular island around the spindle that fits exactly into the space in the motor mount, which means the motor is not adjustable. I could move the scorpion to get the right distance from the drive cog.. but not the Align motor. When you screw it in, it is only in one position?

You can look for spacers/washers and Loctite them over the screw holes on the motor. The spacers should line up with the shaft ring. Then use longer motor screws. If you can fin aluminum spacers that would be better for heat transfer. Hopefully when you adjust the pinion height, it will still have enough shaft to grip on.

They ruined it with that direct driven pully setup. Take off the tail idler then add 2 more up front?

I hated the design of the king V2 so much i told myself ide never again get a direct driven tail.

It looks neat though, the dragonous looks neat too but i cant get past that pully sitting there.

Puzzled over why this heli is more powerful than the SE despite its weight, I can only think of the direct belt drive as responsible. The heli's tail response is great and it is very quiet. Punch is ridiculous compared to the SE ,everything being equal. Despite my earlier hesitation about a direct belt drive, I am now a believer.

I know you love low head speed. But there is a lot going here despite power. Handling is very locked on. You have a more direct feel. Cyclic response is quicker without being unstable. This will be a very nice heli number, how many is it now, 14?

Hey Gino, what is the right belt tension for this thing.. and the best
way to check it is roughly right, with a prod of an allen key or something?

What about that motor? Could that be the power increase?

The motor is a 430L. It was bogging on the SE. On the SE my AKE motor easily smokes it. Now the 430L on the BA smokes the AKE on the SE. I have so much power for my flying style, I am actually afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the AKE on the BA.

It is hard to describe belt tension. I set it so that I can move the belt 2-3mm with medium effort. I want it as loose as possible without the belt skipping teeth, slapping together, and dislodging from the guide pulleys.

I took mine out again and decided I don't like the tail support,
it is sharp as hell so it digs in on grass.. turning your tail into a
grass cutter or digging machine .. and provides so little stand-off
for the tip of the tail rotor that on concrete the tail blades scraped
easily if the heli had a tilt, or there was any ground not perfectly
flat. And if they scrape, they are toast.

I think I may glue about 1cm of hard foam as an extension.. as
ugly as that would look..
