JR HighVoltage servos

hey guys i just came across these new high voltage servos from JR, they are a bit pricey but the specs look great!, no more need for vregs or ubecs

JR DS8717 HV >> http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=JRPS8717HV
JR DS8711 HV >> http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=JRPS8711HV
JR Z9100HVT >> http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...D=JRPSZ9100HVT
JR Z9100HVS >> http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...D=JRPSZ9100HVS

so who's going to be the guinea pig? i'd have given them a try on my e620 but i just put on a set of BLS451's and a BLS251 a couple of months ago

Whats the use really?

You still need a BEC or seperate pack for the RX anyway. 7.4 is all? Why not 15v or 22v??

Many servos now are 2.1 si 2.6 is not that bad.

I really donít itís worth the cost or weight. Those BLS451 servos can move faster than my thumbs and last 5 times longer (according the Futaba) so I really donít see that new servos will make a helicopter fly better. You may actually loose performance from the extra weight of the servos and extra battery.

Fred is right Ė they should make them with an internal regulator so we can run them directly off a 12s power battery.

I think they're primarily ment for fuel vehicles that are running on 2S packs, like a T-rex 700 or such. Very impressive numbers but a high price tag to go with them.

one of the reasons why "Flybar", since the flybarless came out , the only way to up the speed in the cyclics was a very fast servo with alot of b alls . 8717s been out a while , yes they run off 8.4 bat . with a Spectrum rx that can handle 8.4 , then all you need is a reg inline for the tail servo.
work great, got them in my Joker
